MIPIM 2025: Driving Growth & Delivery across Greater Manchester
MIPIM 2025 showcased the scale of ambition and opportunity across Greater Manchester and the North, and Peel Land was proud to play a key role in conversations around investment, regeneration and the delivery of transformational projects.
Partnering with Marketing Manchester and Place North, we helped showcase the best of the North to the world. A huge thank you to both teams for their tireless efforts at the Manchester stand and UK hub - the energy and collaboration on display was a real testament to the region’s ambition.
A United Vision for Greater Manchester’s Growth
A major takeaway from MIPIM was the strength of Greater Manchester’s growth plan, structured around six strategic growth locations. Peel Land is a key delivery partner in three of these:
NorthFold – a coordinated Wigan-Bolton investment story
Western Gateway – including Trafford Wharfside and investments by our sister company Peel Waters in TraffordCity and Port Salford
Central Growth Cluster – including Salford Quays
Welcome to the Fold
The launch of NorthFold was a significant moment, demonstrating how joint working between Wigan, Bolton, GMCA and other partners including ourselves can unlock investment, infrastructure and new opportunities. It was great see Peel Land MD Stephen Wild jointly launching the “ready to go” initiative with colleagues from GMCA, Wigan and Bolton Councils.
With early delivery already underway, projects like Hulton Park and Health Innovation Bolton will help drive housing, infrastructure, health and sport-led growth, aligning with the wider GM vision and contributing to UK economic prosperity.
Future Quays & Trafford Wharfside
Peel Land is actively supporting the delivery of Future Quays, Trafford Wharfside, and the wider Old Trafford Regeneration, ensuring these areas evolve into sustainable, well-connected communities. With the recent announcement on the future of Manchester United’s stadium, the regeneration potential of this area has never been greater. Trafford Wharfside will play a key role in shaping the wider development, helping to create a vibrant, mixed-use destination.
In the Western Gateway, Peel Waters is also driving investment through TraffordCity and Port Salford, strengthening the region’s logistics, leisure, and economic offer.
The Focus: Delivery, Delivery and Delivery!
MIPIM 2025 reinforced that partnerships and collaboration are the key to delivering on our ambitions. As a private sector delivery partner, Peel Land is focused on:
Supporting the challenge of delivering 1.5m new homes in five years - with Peel Land readying sites and partnerships for 7,000+ new homes
Ensuring resources and skills are in place to deliver major regeneration projects
Working with public sector partners to unlock funding and accelerate delivery
The ambition is clear, the opportunities are lined up – now it’s all about delivery. Peel Land remains committed to working alongside local authorities, investors and stakeholders to turn plans into reality and create lasting, transformational change across Greater Manchester and beyond. Our key takeways from mipim 2025 are clear,
