THE QUAYS
MediaCity, is a world class creative, digital and tech hub positioned on the banks of the Manchester Ship Canal in Salford. Home to the BBC, ITV, dock10 studios, The Lowry and The University of Salford as well as 250 SMEs, it has a growing residential community and boasts a lively cultural and independent food and drink scene.
One of the most transformational regeneration projects in Europe at the time of its delivery there are now plans to double its size over the next decade creating c8,000 new homes as well as c500,000 sq ft of additional commercial space across 60 acres. The first phase was delivered by Peel, Landsec now own and operate the development.
MEDIACITY NORTH AND EAST
To the North and East of MediaCity, Peel Land’s interest of c100 acres has the potential to bring vast future growth and opportunity to the Quays. Peel Land is working in partnership with Salford City Council to establish a joint vision for this area of the Quays.
TRAFFORD WHARFSIDE
Trafford Wharfside is one of the north west’s most exciting regeneration opportunities. Stretching along the southern banks of the Manchester Ship Canal it takes in major landmarks such as Old Trafford and the Imperial War Museum North with close proximity to the world-class tech and digital hub MediaCity.
Peel Land’s interest covers 33 out of 213 acres within Trafford Council’s development framework and masterplan.
The vision for the area is to create a key an emerging and well-connected neighbourhood to Manchester City Centre and MediaCity which will provide 5000 new homes with access to amenities and public spaces. Trafford Wharfside will also provide a high-quality setting for Manchester United and their plans to develop a world class stadium.

Heritage Quarter – adjacent to Trafford Wharf
Stadium District – Manchester United area
Innovation Quarter – western area of Wharfside
Wharfside Heart – connects the four other character areas together
